Originally from California, Johnson attended UC Berkeley, where he studied Microbial Biology and Education. After college, he served as an English teacher in the Bay Area, assisting students with their college application essays and helping them ace the SAT. He then relocated to the University of Pennsylvania, where he completed his Master's in Health Care Innovation while working in clinical research focused on rare lymphoproliferative disorders.
Currently, he is a medical student at the University of Queensland - Ochsner Health and an alumni application reader and interviewer for UC Berkeley and the Perelman School of Medicine, where he gets to read many essays every admissions cycle!
